Do you have diarrhea? Maybe you're eating the wrong foods, you may be under stress or have no idea what bothers your stomach. You are not sure what to eat because you fear it will make it worse. Here's a brief guide - safe diet for diarrhea.

Bananas

The mild taste, easy to brew and a good choice for solving spasms in the intestines. High levels of potassium in bananas helps compensate electrolytes that are lost in an extremely persistent diarrhea. Bananas are rich in pectin, a soluble fiber that helps in the absorption of fluids in the intestines. Contains a good amount of inulin, another soluble fiber. Inulin is a prebiotic,a substance that stimulates the growth of beneficial bacteria ( probiotics ) in the intestines.

White rice and mashed potatoes

This food will be pleasant for your intestines. Because of the small amounts of fiber and easily digested starch will not worsen diarrhea. Eat potatoes and rice without adding butter or margarine - the fat they contain can irritate you and can cause evoked intestinal cramps.

Puree apple

Bananas and apples are a good source of pectin. However,a large amount of fiber in raw apples makes them too harsh for sensitive digestive organs. Cooking or baking makes them easier for your digestive system and allows you to benefit from pectin, sugar and other nutrients that are found in them.

Toasted white bread and crackers

When the intestines are working normally it is important to eat healthy whole grain products. However, when you have diarrhea,it is better to turn to processed foods of wheat.By removing the outer layer of the grain foods are easily digested. As a bonus, salt ( sodium ) in crackers and salty sticks will help restore the electrolyte balance.

Yogurt

Usually it is recommended to avoid milk products during episodes of acute diarrhea.Yogurt is an exception to this rule.Look for yogurt that contains live probiotic cultures, namely Lactobacillus acidophilus and bifidum Bifidobacilum. These active cultures and probiotics seem to help to restore the balance of the beneficial bacteria in the intestines.

Cooked chicken

Thanks to its composition cooked chicken breast is easily digestible source of protein. This is a sure way to bring the necessary nutrients.Butter and oil are difficult for the irritated digestive organs so avoid frying and braising.

Blueberries

Dried blueberries are used in Sweden for centuries in the treatment of diarrhea.Dr Varo Tyler in his book The choice of plants recommends to eat dried blueberries or to cook tea from grinded dried blueberries( cooked 10 minutes).

Blueberries help with diarrhea due to the content of tannins, which has a beneficial effect on the mucous membranes, reduces inflammation and secretion of fluid and mucus.Contains a substance called antocijanid, which has antibacterial properties, and are a good source of antioxidants. Finally, blueberries are another good source of soluble fiber pectin .

Herbal tea

Okay, this is a drink, not food, but acts soothing to the digestive organs.Nothing is nicer than chugging hot tea.Two teas are especially good for diarrhea : peppermint and chamomile.

Mint Tea: Mint has a soothing effect on the gastrointestinal system. It is believed that soothes and relaxes the muscles along the intestine, which reduces cramping. It seems that reduces gas in the intestines.

Chamomile tea : The flower of chamomile has strong effect. Therefore give preference to tea containing flower instead of tea in teabags, which sometimes contains milled whole plant.Chamomile flower effectively reduces intestinal inflammation and soothes spasms.
